The Board of Directors has paid $4,000 of its $10,000 pledge toward the Book Scholarship for a sophomore or junior student in the BSN program. Once paid, the Association will continue contributing to this scholarship to turn it into a full scholarship. The amount for a full scholarship is $25,000. Alumni have made gifts of over $3,000 to this scholarship. This $3,000 will go toward the goal of a full scholarship.

Leadership Awards: These awards were presented to one BSN graduate and one MSN graduate from the Charleston Campus and one MSN graduate from the Morgantown Campus. The recipients of these awards are chosen by their peers. The BSN graduate receives a $250 cash gift and a diploma frame. The MSN graduates each receive a $125 gift and diploma frame.

Gifts for Graduates: WVU School of Nursing brief bags are given to all graduates.

At the May 2006 graduation the Association presented to the parents of Erin Marie Keener, a School of Nursing pin. Erin, a senior BSN student, was killed by a hit-and-run driver in November 2005.

Student Appreciation Day: On this day, all students are presented with a gift as a way for the School to show them appreciation.

Sophomore Pinning Ceremony: The Association gave $500 to the School of Nursing in support of the Sophomore Pinning Ceremony which was held on September 9, 2006.

Memberships in the Association continue to increase. The Association had 619 memberships in 2005. This includes paid, life and associate memberships.

The Board of Directors thanks all alumni and friends for their continued support.
