Call for Nursing Alumni Association Award Nominations
The West Virginia University School of Nursing Alumni Association honors alumni and
friends who are committed to the School and to the nursing profession. Each year,
we recognize those who contribute exceptional service and dedication.
Awards will be presented at the annual alumni banquet during Homecoming weekend.
Nominations must be received prior to July 31, 2012.
Alumnus of the Year Award
This award honors a graduate (BSN, MSN, PhD or DNP)of the WVU School of Nursing who
promotes a positive image of WVU School of Nursing and who makes notable contributions
to the profession of nursing through innovative service. The recipient will have
distinguished her/himself in an exceptional way that brings recognition of achievement
through leadership, education, research, clinical practice and/or professionalism.
The recipient must be present to receive the award.
Distinguished Alumnus Award
This award honors a graduate (BSN, MSN, PhD or DNP) of the WVU School of Nursing who
has proven distinguished service to the school, university and nursing profession through
practice, research and education. The recipient demonstrates consistent leadership and
exceptional achievements in the nursing profession. This award may or may not be awarded annually.
Honorary Alumnus Award
This award honors a non-alumnus who has consistently made significant contributions to
the WVU School of Nursing and who has demonstrated outstanding service and support to
the profession of nursing. The recipient has given tirelessly of her/his time and
resource to the School.

All nominations are kept confidential with the Board of Directors and Awards Committee

The committee will only consider information that is part of the submitted nomination

Nominations will not be considered after the deadline
