THE SON WELCOMES DR. GEORGIA L. NARSAVAGE
G. L. NarsavageGeorgia L. Narsavage, Ph.D., APRN, FAAN, will be the next dean of the West Virginia University School of Nursing.  Dr. Narsavage currently serves as associate dean for academic affairs and professor in the School of Nursing at the Medical College of Georgia.

In July, Narsavage will take the post being vacated by E. Jane Martin, Ph.D., who announced her retirement last year.  “I am delighted to have been chosen as the next dean of the West Virginia University School of Nursing,” Narsavage said.   “Jane Martin’s leadership has built a legacy and a strong foundation for our future. West Virginia University has expert faculty, exceptional students, and remarkable resources.  In meeting with WVU nursing students during the interview process, I was impressed by their ability to think critically as well as their desire to attack the health disparities of our current system of care and make it better for others.”

Sexual Assault Awareness Week activity tomorrow night!
"Take Back the Night” (also known as Reclaim the Night) is an internationally held march and rally intended as a protest and direct action against rape and other forms of violence against women. Over the years the event has expanded beyond an event for women as violence is blind to gender. The term “Take Back the Night” came from the title of a 1977 memorial read by Anne Pride at an anti-violence rally in Pittsburgh. The Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance at WVU sponsors this march and rally every year. Please come join us Thursday April 5th at on the plaza behind the Mountainlair. Speakers at the event will be Mon County Delegate Barbara Evans Fleischauer,  Morgantown Council Woman Teresa Miller, Carrie Ross-Stone, Deb Strouse and Ruth Kershner. The will also be a march from the top of High street to the court house followed by a candle light vigil. Everyone is encouraged to stand with a united voice demanding an end to violence.  For more information please call Gibran Mancus (404) 791-0990.
