CELEBRATING OUR SENIOR SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS - TOMORROW!
Please come celebrate the Service- Learning activities of the Senior Nursing Students as a result of their work during the Rural/Community Rotation. Students will be presenting Scholarly Posters that represent program activities that addressed community needs throughout WV. Students assessed the populations they were serving and developed a Capstone project based on the needs of the Community. Posters will be in the Commons Area (near the Pylons- behind the Coffee Shop) on April 24th from 10-2PM. This is a great time for Junior students to see what they can look forward to. Faculty, it is a great opportunity to see how the students have grown.

2008 MORGANTOWN WALK FOR LIFE AND BREATH! LET’S WALK TOGETHER!

CalendarSaturday, May 3 – It’s the 2008 Morgantown Walk for Life and Breath, sponsored by the American Lung Association. Registration begins at 9 and the walk follows at 10 at the Ruby McQuain Park. Bring your pets and children for a fun morning in the park. The Mountaineer will be there for pictures. Face painters and lots of fun activities for kids will be available. We want a huge walking team representing the School - our goal is to raise more than $1000. Please see Roger Carpenter to sign up. If your schedule doesn’t allow you to be there, you can support a walker with a check to the American Lung Association. Nursing students are needed to man the blood pressure tables and help with kids’ activities. Since this is the Saturday before Finals Week, Dean Narsavage will have special “Brain Bags” for our student participants! We’ll wear red t-shirts (if you want a red SON t-shirt, they are available for $6) – please e-mail Betty Jurick, bjurick@hsc.wvu.edu to order. Orders must be received by 4-23 to get them in time).

KEEP BRINGING YOUR USED PC CARTRIDGES TO HEALTH RESTORATION
We continue to raise funds for the Humane Society – The small pc cartridges we are donating are worth around $1 and the large cartridges bring in $4 each – This continues to be a worthwhile project, saving the animals and the landfill as well. The Humane Society truly appreciates your efforts! This is a year round project! We are turning in 106 more cartridges this week! Great job!
