THE REC CENTER IS OFFERING FLORIDA FOR SPRING BREAK!

Florida Spring BreakIf beaches, snorkeling, canoeing and camping sound like an exciting vacation experience, then West Virginia University’s Florida spring break trip might be the perfect getaway. Located at the Student Recreation Center on the Evansdale Campus, WVU’s outdoor recreation program is now offering its Florida Keys and Springs trip March 21-29 to University students, faculty and staff. The registration deadline for the trip is March 2.

Trip participants will travel to various Florida state parks, including the Everglades National Park and Canaveral National Seashore, where they can lounge on the beach, swim, snorkel, canoe and meet others seeking an adventure. Low to medium physical activity will be included in all trip activities.

“This is definitely the perfect alternative to usual college spring breaks,” said Abby McDonald, a previous spring break trip leader and participant. “I was able to meet other people interested in outdoor activities.”

The cost of the trip is $400, which includes instruction, transportation, gear, food, camping fees and trip activities. Students can bill the cost of the trip to their student account on the STAR system, as well as pay by check, cash or credit card.

In addition, whitewater day trips, the outdoor rec’s most popular program, begin April 5 and run until May 3.

KEEP BRINGING YOUR USED PC CARTRIDGES TO HEALTH RESTORATION
We continue to raise funds for the Humane Society – The small pc cartridges we are donating are worth around $1 and the large cartridges bring in $4 each – This continues to be a worthwhile project, saving the animals and the landfill as well. The Humane Society truly appreciates your efforts! This is a year round project! We just turned in another 80 cartridges! Great job – keep them coming – unfortunately, the need never goes away!
