GRADUATING SENIORS THIS IS A MUST READ:
Come to Student Services by February 25 and see Mrs. Lisa Vidovich to complete
your application for graduation and alumni forms. A $30 graduation fee must be
paid at this time. Checks payable to West Virginia University can be accepted
by Student Services. Cash payment must be taken to HSC Admission and Records
after you complete forms in Student Services. NCLEX packets with application to
State Board are also available, get one when you complete application for
graduation. May graduates, the State Board deadline for submitting the
Application for Licensure by Examination is April 1st. Students
who will not be on campus by February 25 should contact Mrs. Vidovich by e-mail

Students interested in ordering a School of Nursing pin: order forms from Balfour are available in Student Services. The deadline to order is February 28. HSC Bookstore will have a representative from a different pin company available 2/19 from 10 am to 2 pm to take orders through them. IF YOU ARE GRADUATING IN AUGUST OR DECEMBER – ORDER YOUR PIN NOW.
HSC has invitations to the
University Graduation May 18 for sale. The School of Nursing will give you
invitations to the School of Nursing graduation convocation May 17.
SUPPORT CANCER RESEARCH, PATIENT SERVICES, AND EDUCATION—BUY DAFFODILS BY
2/21:
You can place advance orders by Friday, Feb. 21, for daffodils from the American
Cancer Society. Daffodils are $6.00/bunch of 10; potted mini daffodils are
available for $8.50 per pot of bulbs. To order send name, telephone number,
location at the HSC, and list of items to Sandra Price at
saprice@hsc.wvu.edu or call 293-3590 or 296-3568 and leave a message. Make
check payable to the American Cancer Society and send it to Sandy Price, Risk
Management, PO Box 9032 or pay when flowers are delivered. Delivery will be
made in HSC during the week of Mar. 10.

TOO LATE TO ATTEND THEATER PRESENTATION “VAGINA MONOLOGUES” 2/21-2/23:
Tickets are $10 for this production in Eiesland Hall Auditorium; call Crystal
Hoover at 296-3051 for ticket reservations. Shows are Feb. 21 at 8:00 pm, Feb.
22 at 7:00 pm, or Feb. 23 at 1:00 pm.
VOTE FOR STUDENT GOVERNMENT CANDIDATES BY MIX 2/25-2/27:
For the first time students can vote online from 7:00 am Feb. 25 to 10:00 pm
Feb. 27. Log on to your MIX account and a link will lead you to the voting
page, complete with ballots and profiles of the candidates. In case you’re
wondering, yes, candidate Anna McCarty is a daughter of faculty member Diana
McCarty.
STUDENT NURSES ASSOCIATION MEETINGS 3/3 AND 4/7:
Don’t miss these SNA meetings in 2118 Health Science Center North (The Path
Amphitheater). They start at 4:00 pm—participate and eat pizza with the other
student movers and shakers.
PARISH NURSING COURSE FOR REGISTERED NURSES 3/12-3/15 AND 5/18-5/21:
WVU School of Nursing is offering a two-part parish nursing course, presented as
a continuing education program for registered nurses. Both the March and the
May sessions will be held in Morgantown. Program leaders are Debra Harr, RN,
MPH, EdD and Cindy Drenning RN, MSN, C-FNP. For more information contact Dr.
Harr at 293-1592.

JUNIORS DESPERATE FOR SUMMER NURSING CLASSES:
If there are any Juniors who have a space in Nursing courses for this summer who
would give them up, let Dr. Gross know by e-mail at
sgross@wvu.edu Two Junior students have desperate need and there are no
spaces left at this time.
GRADUATE NURSING OPEN HOUSE, VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY 3/18:
Villanova University in Villanova, PA, is holding open house at the Connelly
Center from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Mar. 18 for students interested in speaking
personally with faculty and students about graduate education in the College of
Nursing.
SCHOLARSHIPS:
Three or four $250.00 Judy Kandzari Scholarships will be awarded to students in
rural rotations. Applications are available in Student Services; completed
applications must be submitted to Gail VanVoorhis no later than April 1, 2003.
