NURSING FORMAL 2/21/04:
Join your buddies at the nursing formal in Levels VIP Lounge from 7:00 pm-10:00
pm, Saturday February 21st. $22.00 singles; $40.00 couples; up to 3 non-nursing
guests for each nursing student. Appetizers and draft beer provided. Must pay by
February 17th; make check payable to Student Nurses Association and give it to
Betty Jurick in Health Restoration or to one of your class representatives.

AGRICULTURAL HEALTH AWARDS:
University of Kentucky College of Nursing
announces opportunity for nurse student scholars to apply for funds to augment
financial support for projects, theses, and dissertations that focus on
agricultural health and safely. Funds may be used for data collection expenses,
expenses related to the project (excluding computer expenses), domestic travel
to present results, and project report expenses. A letter of support from the
student ’s advisor with completed face page is required. For face page see

Limited space is available in Senior Nursing courses this summer. Summer courses
are 12 weeks’ of course work equivalent to a full regular semester. Even if your
progression plan calls for summer course work or you have already discussed this
possibility with faculty, you must submit a formal, written,
e-mail request to be considered. Address request to

are 12 weeks’ of course work equivalent to a full regular semester. Even if your

GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT NEEDED:
A graduate research assistant (GRA)
position is available for two years, 20 hours per week, 12 month appointment.
This position pays a stipend plus tuition remission. The GRA would work with Dr.
June Lunney, Associate Dean for Research in the School of Nursing, on her
project "Describing Trajectories of Dying". The purpose of the project is to
elucidate the nature of functional decline at the end of life. The work involves
assisting with manuscripts and proposals, managing reference databases, learning
spreadsheet project management and database entry and analysis. It also includes
interviewing recently bereaved next-of-kin. The ideal candidate would be a
highly computer-literate student with very good interpersonal skills. For more

Jamie L. Patton, BSN 2002, and Kraig A. Whitehair were married at Covenant EMC,
Morgantown, October 25, 2003. The couple live in Morgantown where Jamie is
working at WVU Children’s Hospital and Kraig is employed at United Bank in
Westover.
Amy Roberts Kitzmiller, BSN 1992, CRNP, has joined the staff at Pineview Gynecology.
J.B. Caputo, BSN 2000, has passed his national CRNA exam and is practicing as a nurse anesthetist in Clarksburg, WV.
