BSN AND RN-BSN STUDENTS GRADUATING IN MAY
Application deadline for BSN and RN-BSN students graduating in May is Monday, February 26, 2007. At this time you should submit your Application for Graduation and Diploma, $30 graduation fee, Alumni Data Request form, and Pin order form to Brandy Toothman in Student Services.
Fall 2007 Clinical Requests
The Student Services Office would like all undergraduate students to know there is now a Clinical Request Form online which must be submitted to request certain clinical rotations. This form will ONLY be available online until March 12, 2007.
SNA IS SPONSORING A LONGABERGER BASKET BINGO! MARCH 4, HSC CAFETERIA!

SUMMER PAPERLESS BILLING PROCESS
Starting with the summer 2007 term, all student billing will be administered electronically through STAR. Student Accounts will no longer be mailing paper bills unless specifically requested through STAR system by the student. Students and parents will be mailed information about these changes in the coming weeks. Tutorials on how to make an electronic payment through STAR and how to request a paper bill through STAR will soon be available on Student Accounts' web site above. SNA FUNDRAISER
Elder-Beerman is having a huge 1-Day Sale March 3rd. In order to participate in the sale, shoppers must have a coupon book. Inside you will find a coupon for $10 off any purchase of $10 or more, 8 -20% off any 1 item coupons, and a couple other specials. We will be selling these coupon books for $5 each. We get to keep 100% of the profit from the coupon books. SNA current has 50 books.
SERVICE LEARNING ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK COURSES
WVU's Center for Civic Engagement is now taking applications for Alternative Spring Break courses! The programs are partnered with Amizade Global Service Learning and Volunteer Programs. Help us to encourage students to take advantage of these meaningful educational opportunities. Courses fill at 12 and tuition discounts apply until February 23 with $100 off the total cost! ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSES OF THE UPPER OHIO VALLEY SCHOLARSHIP
Students enrolled in the MSN program, who are planning to graduate in two years or less, are eligible to apply for one $1000 scholarship. The criteria are: 1. the student is enrolled at least part-time in an accredited nurse practitioner program, 2. the student plans to practice in the Ohio Valley after graduation, 3. the student is in good academic standing, and 4. the student must submit a 500 word essay on why he/she wishes to practice in the Ohio Valley. The scholarship will be a one time award to an individual. Application deadline: May 1, 2007 and the award notification will be made July 1, 2007 for the 2007-2008 academic year. Any student interested in applying for the scholarship should contact Dr. Mary Jane Smith for the application.

FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Here are a few of the events remaining this month
- Feb. 21 – “Dr. Goddess.” Dr. Kimberly Ellis becomes her alter ego, “Dr. Goddess,” in her one-woman show from 7-9 p.m. at the Towers Gold Ballroom.
- Feb. 28 – African-American Read-In, traditional read-aloud event sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honorary Society, 6-8 p.m., Laurel Room, WVU Mountainlair.
Black History Month was founded in 1926 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the black educator, activist and son of slaves who dug his way from the West Virginia coal mines to the Ivy League, where he earned a Ph.D. from Harvard.
