WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH OUR CLASS OF 2008
In the very near future, Heather Magyar will be moving to Pittsburgh to work in
Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in the NICU.
American Lung Association Recruiting Children for Asthma Camp
The American Lung Association of West Virginia and United Hospital Center are
accepting applications for Camp Catch Your Breath. Designed for children with
asthma, the camp will be held July 27- August 1, 2008 at Jackson's Mill Conference
Center in Weston, WV. Camp Catch Your Breath is specifically for children between
the ages of 8 and 13 who have asthma. The camp combines traditional summer camp
activities like crafts and swimming with an exciting asthma education curriculum.
In addition, extra evening activities such as a no-fire campfire, Luau, Karaoke,
and a trip to the Lewis County Fair make camp a fun-filled experience for all
involved. Participating hospitals include Charleston Area Medical Center, Cabell
Huntington Hospital, Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Jefferson Memorial Hospital,
and Ohio Valley Medical Center.
To register a child for Camp Catch Your Breath contact Chantal Fields at 304-342-6600
or go to
http://www.alawv.org/registration_sheet.htm
and fill out an online application. Hurry, there are only 19 spaces left for this
year's camp!
READY TO ZUMBA?!!
Kayleigh Burner just started a new Zumba class on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30pm.
It's in Central School gym, which is the school behind First Presbyterian Church
downtown. Participants pay $4 at the door, currently Kayleigh is running a special
where you pay for 3 classes and get the 4th free. There are only 2 women who have
previously done Zumba, so if you're anxious about getting involved don't worry!
You're not the only one! Kayleigh would love to see you all on Wednesday!
A GREAT IDEA FROM SNA IF YOU PLAN TO DO SOME TRAVELING THIS SUMMER!
Please collect the toiletry items (shampoos, soap, even the instant coffee) you don't
use from the hotels you stay in. You can bring these items back to school and place
them in the collection box in Academic Affairs (in front of Brandy's desk) either
during the summer or when you get back to school. SNA will donate these items to the
Bartlett House. Thanks so much. Michelle L. Ryan is the SNA President, 2008-2009.
SNA COLLECTING TOPS FROM MEDICATION VIALS FOR FUNDRAISER!
If you are working in a clinical setting this summer, please collect the plastic tops
off vials of medication. When you open a new vial of medication, save that round
plastic top. You can save them until school starts OR you can drop them off in
Academic Affairs (in front of Brandy's office). SNA is using these for a future
fundraiser. Thanks for everyone's help and support.

KEEP BRINGING YOUR USED PC CARTRIDGES TO HEALTH RESTORATION
We continue to raise funds for the Humane Society – The small pc cartridges we are
donating are worth around $1 and the large cartridges bring in $4 each – This continues
to be a worthwhile project, saving the animals and the landfill as well. The Humane
Society truly appreciates your efforts! This is a year round project! Unfortunately,
the need never goes away!
