Carl Deal, a CTU nurse who has helped many, many of our students over the years either by precepting or directing them to various experiences, will be participating on a missions team going to Malawi, Africa in August to assist with health care needs or any other projects. The team is being led by Gary Nouse. The following web site includes information about the area and the overall mission goals as well as may other ways people can help www.compassionatemalawi.org.

Carl is asking for our support for this mission. The airfare, lodging, and transportation to Malawi is $2,500. He would appreciate any financial assistance to cover this expense. RUBY EMPLOYEE HEALTH LOOKING FOR NURSING STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
Students are needed to do a pre-pilot data collection for approx. one week, and then a post-pilot collection period 2 weeks later. Students would be roaming the 7 East Nursing Unit, observing types of patient lifts that are occurring by the nursing staff and keeping record similar to a tally sheet. We would also need commitment for weekend hours as well. This is a great opportunity for community service hours and to be involved in a research study. If you're interested and for more information, please contact Kathleen Hamperian RN,BSN,CCM, Employee Health Department hamperiank@wvuh.com or call 304-598-4000 ext. 73068.

KEEP BRINGING YOUR USED PC CARTRIDGES TO HEALTH RESTORATION
We continue to raise funds for the Humane Society – The small pc cartridges we are donating are worth around $1 and the large cartridges bring in $4 each – This continues to be a worthwhile project, saving the animals and the landfill as well. The Humane Society truly appreciates your efforts! This is a year round project! Unfortunately, the need never goes away!
