Student volunteers are welcome at a summer camp for kids with diabetes, Camp KnoKoma. Information about signing up to be a counselor can be accessed at http://www.campknokoma.com/counselor.htm . You should note on the application that it is for a nursing student position. Preparations are well under way for the 2005 Special Olympics West Virginia Summer Games June 3-5 at WVU, and organizers are once again looking to the community for help in making sure the success of the games continues. "We are now seeking about 1,500 volunteers from the local area to help run the Summer Games," said Nancy Moore, volunteer co-coordinator. "Each year, the event increases in excitement as more and more special athletes compete in these games. This is a wonderful opportunity for residents, WVU employees and students to get involved in a worthwhile and rewarding community event.” To help with the games, volunteers must complete an application form available at
