On March 3, 2006, West Virginia University will be holding its first annual Dance Marathon. Each year, Dance Marathons are hosted at over 90 colleges and universities across the country, and raise over $3 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Dancers raise money through friends, family, and corporate sponsors. They then spend 18 straight hours dancing, socializing, eating, and playing games, all without any sleep. The West Virginia University Children’s Hospital is located in Morgantown and treats approximately 7,500 children per year. All money donated to our event will benefit our local hospital, and we hope to raise $20,000. We will be having dancer recruitment week Nov. 7 through 11. A booth will be set up in the Mountainlair and one at the Health Sciences Center from 10 to 2, Monday through Friday, where you can stop by, get information, and sign up (and get free candy!).
