CONGRATULATIONS:

The "best poster" award was given to Dr. June Larrabee (Professor), Dr. Ying Wu (Assistant Research Professor), and Dr. Heidi Putman (Assistant Professor) for their poster presentation entitled "Caring Behaviors Inventory: A Reduction of the 42-Item Instrument" at the National Nursing Administration Research Conference on October 8th in Tucson, AZ.

 NEW STUDENT SERVICES HOURS:

The Office of Student Services will be open from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

APPROVAL OF GEC/CLUSTER COURSE:

WMST 150 has been approved for credit to meet a Cluster A requirement in the Liberal Studies Program or Objective 7 in the General Education Curriculum.

SIGMA THETA TAU:

There will be an Open House/Orientation program sponsored by the Alpha Rho Chapter (WVU School of Nursing's Chapter) of Sigma Theta Tau, the only honor society of nursing. The program will be held Tuesday, November 1 from 4:15 to 5:30pm in the Health Sciences Cafeteria. Dottie Oakes, VP of Nursing, WVUH will speak regarding professional interviewing, and Talbot's clothing store will present a fashion show based on professional dressing. An overview about honor society will also be presented. Refreshments will be served. Both undergraduate and graduate students are invited to attend. PREMATURE BIRTH SEMINAR:

WV Chapter March of Dimes, WV Chapter AWHONN, and WVU Children’s Hospital present Premature Birth: Understanding the Causes; Coping with the Consequences, on Friday, October 21, 8:30 am – 3:15 pm, at the Evansdale Campus, NRCCE Auditorium. See flyer outside Student Services for more details.

THIRD ANNUAL WV JOB FAIR:

The WVU Health Sciences Center’s 3 rd Annual WV Job Fair for residents, fellows and health professions students will be held on Friday, November 4, 2005 from 10 AM – 3 PM in the John E. Jones Conference Rooms in the Health Science Center, WVU Morgantown. Over 40 exhibitors from across the state will be here to meet with students and residents. Bring your resume to present to recruiters. Door Prizes and Food! For help with your resume, list of exhibitors and more, go to and click on “2005 Job Fair”. Sponsored by: WVU Health Sciences Placement Service and Office of Graduate Medical Education. Even if you are not ready to graduate, you should plan to attend. You will learn about various opportunities across the state…and perhaps sites you were not aware of before. You will meet potential employers and establish a relationship with those that appeal to you.

 BLOOD DRIVE :
