THIS SATURDAY!!  NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN US!  IF YOU CAN’T WALK, PLEASE SPONSOR! GREATER MORGANTOWN HEART ASSOCIATION WALK!  STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF are teaming up to raise funds for the American Heart Association.  Let’s get together Saturday, October 6 at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park!

The School of Nursing is forming a team of donors, walkers and volunteers to raise funds to help protect people from the ravages of heart disease and stroke, the number 1 and 3 killers of Americans.  This is going to be a fun activity – organizers will be checking blood pressures that day, so volunteers will be needed there.  Our goal is to raise a minimum of $1000 (1 walker can ask 20 people to donate $5 each – that’s $100 per walker – 10 walkers and we are there).

Pets are welcome and many of us are bringing our dogs to help keep pace.  Please contact Roger Carpenter, the SON Walk Coordinator, rcarpenter@hsc.wvu.edu, 293-1401 to sign up, donate or volunteer or to walk.   We can make a real statement about our commitment to a heart healthy West Virginia!  Come walk with us!  See our bulletin board on the 6th floor!

UPDATE:  Check out our fund raising thermometer on the bulletin board. We have raised over $800 toward our $1000 goal!   We need sponsors and more walkers!  We have 32 walkers & volunteers and counting!!
