CORRECTION FOR FALL FAMILY WEEKEND 10/11/03:
On the parent registration form there is a $10.00 per person fee for Mountaineer Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 11, 9:00-10:30 am, HSC cafeteria. Please let your parents know there is no charge for you the student. If they have already responded and paid for you, their money will be refunded. There is no charge for any HSC student. If you bring a guest there will be a $10.00 charge per guest. RSVP to HSC Office of Alumni Affairs 293-5110 or email gslaugenhoup@hsc.wvu.edu

Student Services has the Sophomore class composite picture available for purchase for $1.00. See Brandy Fisher to obtain one.
MANDITORY ADVISING MEETING FOR FRESHMEN NURSING MAJORS 9/29/03:
Direct admit Freshmen, class of 2007, will meet Monday, Sept. 29, at 5:00 pm in room 3016, Health Sciences Center North. Pizza dinner provided along with discussion of registration for Spring, immunization and CPR requirements, and other important items. You are required to attend; if you have a class conflict for this date and time, contact Mrs. Lisa Vidovich at 293-1384 immediately. We look forward to seeing all of you there.
SNA MEETING RESCHEDULED TO 9/29/03:
Due to the fire on Sept. 22, the SNA meeting is rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 29, room 2118 from 4:00-5:00 pm.
CANDLE ORDERS DUE 10/1/03:
Turn your candle orders into Christine at the SNA meeting on 9/29 or place them in her box in the SNA workspace by October 1st.
NEW PARKING ALERT:
Effective October 1, Chestnut Ridge Hospital parking policy for parking areas G-1 and G-2 will change. You must either display a visitor/patient permit from Chestnut Ridge Hospital or have a Chestnut Ridge Hospital employee parking pass to be able to park in these areas 24 hours/7 days a week. First offense receives a final notice; 2nd offense the vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
Stepping Stones “helping people with disabilities” is looking for volunteers for a number of scheduled events this fall. For info call Missy Weimer at 296-0150.
Third-year medical student Ginger Hatfield and husband are hosting a Bike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at the “Pit” (Area 81 parking lot) on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (rain date is Sunday, Oct. 19). Participants get people to sponsor them. For example, someone you know might pledge you $0.10 per lap, and you would see how many laps you could ride and gather the money after the Bike-A-Thon. If you don’t want to gather sponsors, simply sponsor yourself. There is not a minimum amount you have to raise to participate. If interested, e-mail Ginger [c_h_2@hotmail.com] your name, phone #, and mailbox # , she will put forms in your mailbox. Participants receive certificate for raising any amount of money, a t-shirt for raising $35.00, sweatshirt for $75.00. The rider raising the most money over $125.00 gets a CD Boombox. There may also be other prizes.
