We had witches and pirates and doctors and chickens and hot dogs oh my! Halloween morning saw a huge group of School of Nursing faculty, staff, students, family and pets walking for the American Heart Association. We had the biggest and the best team. We raised over $3400!
One thing for sure - nursing dogs are the cutest dogs anywhere! They didn't let the rain bother them and they all enjoyed their treat bags.
Many thanks to Roger Carpenter whose enthusiasm and hard work resulted in over 150 people signing up to walk and donating to the Heart Association.
Graduate Assistants Genevieve Larrimer, Jen Molina and Sarah
Rupe await the beginning of the Heart Walk Saturday, October 31.
Our own Great Pumpkin is ready to walk for the American Heart
Association.
Stephanie Kainec and her winning Hot Dog! He was judged the
Funniest! So cute and funny!
Cutest! Funniest! Scariest! And absolute cutest Beagle! Great
costumes for our contestants! Many thanks to all who brought
their dogs out on a day that was just plain miserable! The pets
brightened our day!
A huge downpour could not wash away the enthusiasm and smiles from our wonderful group of School of Nursing walkers!
The School of Nursing was named best team - there wasn’t even a close 2nd place!
Brenda Deane’s granddaughter, Jolene, brightened our day and
was our lucky bee!
A minor wardrobe adjustment to his scrubs and this cutie was
ready for his closeup!
Roger Carpenter accepted the Best Team Award at the Heart
Walk! He does an amazing job putting together a great team
and raising big bucks every year! Good job, Roger!
Even the best bumblebees have to keep their wings dry!
Some of our pet contestants await their turns on the soggy
runway! All of the dogs were absolutely adorable - we appreciate
the hard work and ingenuity that went into making these little
guys so darn cute!
Cutest winner, Dr. Fendi and his “mom” Sarah Henson share
their winning moment with Jolene, our bee!
Some of our youngest Heart Walk participants – the rain didn’t
bother them one bit! They really sank their teeth into the day!
Rainy days are just great reasons to wear cool jackets! So cute!
Nursing Students have the absolute cutest dogs – just
huggable, every one of them!
Kathleen Spadaro and her wonderful dog, Cosmo, “enjoy”
the day with Susan and Richard McCrone.
A Halloween Heart Walk is a great reason to go to your closet and get out your
Sunday best!
“Dr.” Fendi won the Cutest Dog Contest – his mom, Sarah, is so
proud of him!
We are so lucky to have so many wonderful people share their
families and their Saturday with us! Great smiles run in the family!
What a bummer! The Subway subs were “people” food! All of
our pets got tiny treat bags as our small way of saying thank
you for making our day! Kinda’ thinking this sandwich might
have gotten shared!
Dr. Claudia Brooks welcomes the hearty souls who volunteered
their Saturday morning to raise money for the American Heart
Association!
Dogs just love hanging out with their owners – and the rain. . . .
what rain? I got treats!
