Geist, PharmD Clinical Assistant Professor West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Phone: 304-347-1380 BIOSKETCH Dr Geist earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA in 2007. She then went on to complete a pharmacy practice residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy and a pediatric specialty residency at the University of Kentucky. After completion of her pediatric specialty residency she accepted her current position as Clinical Assistant Professor at WVU School of Pharmacy. EDUCATION

TEACHING INTERESTS AND COURSES TAUGHT Dr Geist will teach pediatric related topics throughout various classroom and laboratory courses for students in their first through third professional years. PRACTICE INTERESTS Her current position is a joint appointment with Charleston Area Medical Centers Women and Children’s Hospital, where she serves as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Specialist. She participates in multidisciplinary rounds with the PICU team, provides lectures to pharmacy residents and students, and medical residents and students in various pediatric topics. In addition she serves as a preceptor for a pediatric rotation for fourth year pharmacy students in the advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) curriculum. Her other current practice areas of interest include cystic fibrosis, neonatal intensive care, and infectious diseases. RESEARCH AND SCHOLARSHIP INTERESTS Dr Geist’s current research involves change in FEV1 utilizing twice daily tobramycin therapy in pediatric cystic fibrosis patients.
