BIOSKETCH

Carla J. See, MS, MA, was appointed in January 2001 as a Clinical Instructor and Director of Experiential & External Education in the WVU School of Pharmacy.  Originally from Keyser in Mineral County, she received her B.S. in Secondary Education from WVU in 1980.  She holds two advanced degrees from WVU, an M.A. in Guidance & Counseling (1983) and an M.S. in Community Health Education (1995).  In addition, she earned a certificate in healthcare administration through the WVU Department of Public Administration.  Currently a candidate for a doctoral degree in technology education, Ms. See has special interests in preceptor development, instructional design, and teaching strategies for the adult learner.

Ms. See’s responsibilities as Director of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences include coordinating the experiential rotations in the P4 year, managing educational agreements and adjunct faculty appointments and teaching in the experiential curriculum.  Her teaching focuses on professionalism topics, job search/career strategies, and rural health issues.  Ms. See is a member of AACP and the PEPSIG section.

Ms. See has been employed by WVU since 1983, when she began work as an admission counselor.  She has also worked in the University Advising Center and the Career Services Center.  As a Sr. Career Services Counselor, her responsibilities included teaching job search skills and coordinating the Pharmacy Recruitment Program.  Prior to coming to the School of Pharmacy, she worked in the Department of Medicine, Section of General Internal Medicine, managing a preventive cardiology clinic and clinical research trials.  In addition, Ms. See has served as a trainer with WVU Training & Development, offering seminars in resume writing, interview techniques, and personal goal setting.
