Ph.D. Admission Requirements
Applicants considered for admission to the doctoral program must meet the following minimum requirements.

Either a professional degree in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), Medicine (M.D.), or a Master's degree in pharmacy administration. Students with a Master’s degree in related fields such as epidemiology, public health, health care administration, etc. are also encouraged to apply. Students with a Master’s degree in related fields such as marketing, management, economics, psychology, or sociology with a demonstrated interest or experience in health care may also apply.

Outstanding students with a B.S. in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences may be considered for direct admission into the Doctoral program.

College transcript with a minimum of a B average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale)

GRE or GMAT scores (International applicants must also take the TOEFL examination and score at least 550 on the paper exam or 213 on the computer-based exam) evaluating potential for graduate school.

Supportive letters of recommendation (at least three).

Satisfactory personal or telephone interview (whenever possible).

Statement (one page) of personal goals describing background, academic/research interests and career objectives.

A resume or curriculum vitae listing educational and employment history.

Financial Support
The Department of Pharmaceutical Systems and Policy offers teaching and research assistantships to qualified graduate students. Three industry funded fellowships in Outcomes Research are also offered, the WVU-Pfizer Graduate Doctoral (Ph.D.) Fellowship, the Aventis (formerly Hoechst-Marion-Roussel) Fellowship, and the Takeda Fellowship. Additional scholarships and fellowships are available through West Virginia University and other sources.
