Pharmacy Football (P-1,2,3,4): Residency Fair Lucky 7 winner(P-1,2,3,4): P-3 Jane Rogers was picked as the winner of the Lucky 7 drawing and gets a $20 gift certificate to the restaurant of her choice. Clinical Skills Competition (P-1,2,3,4): The Winners of the ASHP WVU Clinical Skills Competition are: 1st place: Amanda Snyder and Lucy Dalzot 2nd place Emily Moffatt and Kimberly Bowsher 3rd place Diana Betkijian and Ashley Reed Please join me in congratulating these winning teams. All of the participating teams deserve praise as they took on this extra challenge. Third years should note that the winning team participated last year, and I would think that this may have given them a slight advantage. The ASHP answer sheet is attached, so that you can see how your team performed on this challenging case. Each winning team will receive a certificate from the School and a cash prize from the Student Chapter of ASHP. Amanda and Lucy: Represent us well, and bring home our first top 10 finish! Phi Lambda Sigma Applications Available(P-2,3): Volunteers needed to help with flu shots (P-1,2,3,4): As most of you are aware, for the second consecutive year, the HSC VP's office has purchased flu vaccine to give to HSC students, staff, and faculty. Student Health staff has been given the task of organizing and administering these 2,500 doses. Last year we utilized many volunteers from the School of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dental Hygiene, Exercise Physiology, etc., and we are trying to organize it similarly this year. The Flu vaccine will be administered in the John Jones Conference area on Thursday, November 9 from 1pm-7pm and on Monday, November 13 from 7am-3pm. I'm hoping you will be able to assist me by getting the word out to your particular students and staff-- any block of time would be appreciated. HSC Jobs Fair (P-1,2,3,4): There are some hospitals that do not attend the School of Pharmacy Career Fair and Career Day, but do attend the HSC Jobs Fair. Attached is a list of those entities attending the Jobs Fair on Nov. 2. NCPA Denim Drive (P-1,2,3,4): NCPA will be holding a denim drive to help support Appalachian Rags to Rugs, a non-profit organization that teaches marketable skills to low-resource individuals while promoting recycling, creativity, and preservation of Appalachian heritage. There will be a box in the clinical offices until the end of October where you can donate any old jeans or other denim items. If you have any questions, contact Caity Frail or Kate Dobson. LKS SOP Jackets are in (P-1,2,3,4): School of Pharmacy jackets are in! If you ordered one, please stop by the School of Pharmacy hallway Thursday at noon and LKS members will be there to pass them out. If you are unable to pick up your jacket on Thursday, please e-mail Amanda Preston (apreston@sole.wvu.edu) to arrange a time to get your jacket. Thank you for your help in this successful fundraiser! Kappa Psi Halloween Party (P-1,2,3,4): The Kappa Psi Halloween Party will be held Friday, October 27 in the downstairs area of De Lazy Lizard on High Street. The party runs 8-11 PM with a $3 admission fee. Tickets can be purchased from P-1 Amanda Thiry, P-2 Kate Dobson and P-3 Lindsey Gorrell. ASP Meeting (P-1,2,3,4): ASP will be having a general meeting on Monday, October 23rd at noon in room 3084. Please bring your refer-a-friend slips to the meeting for the drawing.
