Relay for Life ( P-1,2,3,4): There will be an informational meeting on Thursday November 17 at 12 o'clock in room 3084 about Relay for Life. This is a great a way to earn some of those community service hours. We need YOUR help! Will you relay? Interns needed (P-1,2,3): Interns are needed at the Rite Aid in Kingwood. Online Course in Veterinary Medicine (P-1,2,3,4): Creighton University's School of Pharmacy offers an on-line course in veterinary therapeutics. The course begins in January; registration begins immediately and ends Dec. 20. See Ms. See for more information. 2007 AMCP/FMCP/Pfizer Managed Care Pharmacy Summer Internship Program (P-2,3): http://www.amcp.org/amcp.ark?c=stu&sc=internship_app The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), in conjunction with the Foundation for Managed Care Pharmacy, and under the auspices of Pfizer Inc, has made available twelve managed care internships for the summer of 2007. The goal of the program is to enhance a student's awareness of career options in managed care pharmacy practice settings or within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) by direct hands-on involvement. Ten managed care organizations and two VA medical centers will each host an intern for this program. Each pharmacy student will participate in a preceptorship program, working at a managed care organization or at a VA medical center. Students will complete a structured rotation, and will be required to present a poster at AMCP's Educational Conference in October 2007. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the AMCP/FMCP/Pfizer Managed Care Pharmacy Summer Internship Program, a student must be enrolled full-time in an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy during the 2006-2007 school year with anticipated graduation in 2008 or 2009 with a Pharm.D degree. APPLICATION PROCESS: An on-line version of the application is available at: http://www.amcp.org/amcp.ark?c=stu&sc=internship_app. Three letters of recommendation must be supplied with each application, one from the dean of the school, one from a faculty member and one from a non-relative pharmacist. Applications and letters of recommendation must be postmarked by January 29, 2007. The internship must be completed within a ten-week period between May and August 2007.
