Society News (P-1,2,3,4): Congratulations to P-2 Patrick Huffman, who became engaged to Jonna Hudson on Dec. 10. Jonna is a '06 West Virginia Wesleyan College graduate in elementary education. She is currently enrolled in grad. school here at WVU and is employed in the biology department. A wedding is being planned for next summer.

Thanks for the Support for the Shoebox Santa collection (P-1,2,3,4): From P-2 Dianne Petrocelli- Just wanted to send out a HUGE, HEARTFELT THANK YOU from Lambda Kappa Sigma and Appalachian Outreach. We managed to donate 160 wrapped Shoebox Santas (77 men and 83 women) which will be delivered today (Tues. 12/12) to the following three rural counties in West Virginia: Hamlin (Lincoln County), Jenoa (Wayne County), and the lower end of Mingo County. Diane from AO also wanted me to send out big hugs from her as well. This is the first year LKS worked with AO, and we look forward to beating 160 boxes next year. Thank you so much to those of you who donated your time, material, and/or completed boxes. We could not have done this without you! Good luck on your remaining finals and have a safe and happy holiday and break.

Scholarships for the 2007-08 Academic Year (P-1,2,3): School of Pharmacy scholarship applications are now available for scholarships which will be awarded for the 2007-2008 academic year. Attached you will find a description of the application process and the application form. Forms are due to Debbie Anderson in the Main Office by February 12, 2007. Rho Chi/Schering Plough/ AFPE first year graduate scholarship (P-4): The attached flyer announces the availability of the 2007 Rho Chi-Schering Plough-AFPE First Year Graduate Scholarship. The Rho Chi-Schering Plough-AFPE First Year Graduate Scholarship is an outstanding source of support for a first year graduate student who is a member of the Society.

Community Service (P-1,2,3,4): The Holiday break offers an excellent opportunity for students to pick up community service hours by engaging in local programs back home.
