Edited from a virtual waiting room, hence the limited fonts, etc.- ASHP Meeting (P-1,2,3,4): The WVU Chapter of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) will be having its first meeting Thursday, September 14, at noon in Hostler Auditorium. Dr. Carol Woodward, a pharmacy administrator at Ruby Memorial Hospital, will be speaking, and lunch will be provided. Come learn what membership in ASHP is all about! LKS Meeting (P-1,2,3,4):The first Lambda Kappa Sigma informational meeting will be this Friday, Sept. 15th at noon in room 3084. This meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more about LKS and how to become a member. Light snacks will be available. LKS T-shirt Fundraiser (P-1,2,3,4):Calling all ladies who are proud to be future (or current) pharmacists. LKS is selling "Real Men Marry Pharmacists" tshirts. The design of these shirts is shown in an attachment. They have a bouquet of flowers on the front tied together by an Rx, and on the back they say "Real Men Marry Pharmacists" with a diamond ring around the y of marry. The available colors are the hot pink shown in the attached design for SHORT SLEEVE ONLY, and deep purple in either SHORT OR LONG SLEEVES. Writing will be white on both colors of shirts. Members of LKS will be coming to the P1, P2 and P3 classes sometime this week to pass around order forms. However, you may also order a tshirt through email. Just email what SIZE, what COLOR, SHORT OR LONG SLEEVES, and your MAILBOX number (or best method of delivery) to Megan Zimm at mzimm@sole.wvu.edu These are standard tshirt sizes, not the "baby tees." Prices are $12 for short sleeves and $15 for long sleeves. Checks can be made payable to LKS and placed in mailbox #1155 by Friday September 22. Payment needs to be turned in by Sept. 22 at noon or your shirt will not be ordered. Thanks! ~LKS. Psychiatric Pharmacy (P-1,2,3,4): For those who might be interested in Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice, you can join the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) as a student and not have to pay membership fees. This gives you access to the (very active) CPNP listserve and many website offerings, as well as other benefits. Contact Dr. Gene Makela in the Clinical Dept. for more details (293-1456). Intern wanted (P-1,2,3): Waynesburg, PA-McCracken's Pharmacy, Inc. ( 724) 627-5454 is looking to hire a part-time intern-flexible hours. Community Service Opportunities (P-1,2,3,4): So if you want to help out or need some community service hours then e-mail us back at shabwvu@yahoo.com with the date and times that you can help out. We can give you directions to the Fire House or if you need a ride please let us know in the e-mail so that arrangements can be made. 2. ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY/ADOPT-A-TRAIL CLEANUP 3. Volunteers are needed to help with CarpFest (kids activities, set up, and take down). CarpFest will be held October 7th, noon-6pm, Upper Pavilion of Marilla Park - live music (4 bands), kids activities, food, crafts, stream walks and MORE! Bike shuttle to top of Deckers Creek rail trail - 10:30 and 11:30 am.If you are interested in volunteering for either activity contact Sarah@DeckersCreek.org. |
