Society News (P-1,2,3,4): Congratulations to P-4's Jennifer Parnell and Matt Sternthal who became engaged to be married Sept 16. A winter 2007-08 wedding is being planned.

ASP Last Call for Membership (P-1,2,3,): Last Call for ASP Membership (P-1,2,3): Due to this past weekend's technical difficulties with the APhA Website, many students were unable to register for new, renewal, and reinstated memberships before the deadline. Therefore, the Academy of Student Pharmacists (ASP) has extended the membership deadline to Friday, October 6th at 1pm. This will allow students the opportunity to either register online at www.aphanet.org or complete a Student Enrollment Form. Brian Lawson will be available on Thursday, October 5th and Friday, October 6th from 12 noon to 1pm at a table outside the HSC Bookstore to help expedite the membership registration process. At this "ASP Membership Booth," extra Student Enrollment Forms will be on hand for those students who need one, so bring your check or credit card information. ASP chapter officers apologize for any inconveniences you might have experienced. It is our hope you will continue to support APhA and ASP through participation in our nationally and regionally recognized patient care, political action, and community service projects. ASHP t-shirt sale (P-1,2,3,4): The WVU Chapter of ASHP is selling T-shirts to assist with funding for those attending the national midyear meeting. On the front they will say: "Trust me. I'm a pharmacist." And on the back they will have the circular School of Pharmacy logo. They are gold fabric with blue lettering -- perfect for cheering on the Mountaineers! Cost is $12.00, and they will be delivered in time for Homecoming. To order, please place the money and attached order form in mailbox 984 by Monday, October 9, or contact one of the people listed on the form. Thanks! (see attached description)

ACCESS TO MORGANTOWN HSC STUDY LOUNGE(AKA Blue Room)(P-1,2,3,4): As of October 4th all students must use their WVU Mountaineer ID card for swipe access to the Student Lounge "Blue Room" (study carrels area located next to the open student lounge area on the ground floor) from 5:00 PM to 6:00 am Monday thru Friday, and 5:00 p.m. Friday to 6:00 am Monday. If your card does not allow you access to the room, contact cpatterson@hsc.wvu.edu during work hours (not available on weekends), therefore, test your access by Friday am if you plan on using it on a weekend. NOTE: For security purposes DO NOT PROP OPEN THE DOOR - IT MUST REMAIN CLOSED AT ALL TIMES.

FLU SHOTS (P-1,2,3,4): The HSC will be providing Influenza vaccine this fall to be given free of charge to all HSC students, staff and faculty. This program is an effort to keep health sciences students, staff and faculty healthier and more productive, and decrease possible spread of influenza among this group and the patients they care for or may be exposed to. Vaccinations will be offered while supplies last, and are recommended for all, in the JEJ Conf Center r from 1-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, and from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13. Those who wish to receive the vaccination are required to bring a valid HSC employee or student identification badge and are encouraged to wear clothing that makes upper arm exposure easy.

Pit parking (P-1,2,3,4): Beginning in January, cars whose drivers have accumulated 3 parking tickets will be towed.
