LKS Lounging with the Lambs (P-1,2,3,4): Interested in Lambda Kappa Sigma? Join us for "Lounging With the Lambs" on Thursday, August 30 at 7 pm. This event will be held at Caity Frail's house. We will be making dog toys out of old denim for the local humane society, so bring some old jeans and a pair of scissors and earn some community service time! After making the toys, we'll be enjoying snacks, movies, and board games. See below for directions.
LKS will be having our first meeting on Wednesday, September 5 at noon in room 3084 at the HSC for members and anyone interested in becoming a member. We will discuss some of our upcoming events and have the information and materials needed to join LKS. We hope to see you at these events!

Directions to Caity's: Turn right out of the HSC parking lot (area 81). Go straight through the traffic light. BB&T bank will be on your right. You will soon see a brick sign on the right that says "Northridge". Turn right here and take the second left into a row of green townhouses. Caity's is the last one in that row (G1). Call 330-231-1315 if you have trouble finding it. You can also meet Kaitlyn McDowell in are 81 at 6:45 pm at the bottom of the PRT stairs to carpool or follow to Caity's.

Phi Lambda Sigma Planners (P-1,2,3,4): PLS still has a few extra School of Pharmacy Planners. If you still haven't gotten yours, you can pick one up in the Clinical Pharmacy Office for $6. The planners will no longer be available after Wednesday Sept 5th. If you have any questions please contact Ashlee Weitzman at aweitzman@sole.wvu.edu.

Interested in joining APhA-ASP? (P-1,2,3,4): Join the Academy of Student Pharmacists on Tuesday, September 4th, for the 2007 Student Outreach Visit held in the HSC Auditorium from noon to 1pm. Keith Marciniak, Group Director of Student & New Practitioner Development for the American Pharmacists Association will be speaking. Pizza and refreshments will be provided. Student Employment Opportunity- Mylan Labs (P-1,2,3): Mylan's Regulatory Affairs Department is interested in hiring a pharmacy student at this time. The position will require part-time hours during the semester. The position in the Regulatory Affairs Dept. and pertains to drug product labeling. Below is a brief job description:

Assist the Senior Associates (Labeling) to perform all Regulatory functions pertaining to
preparation/maintenance of the various types of drug product labeling. This includes
maintenance of the labeling files, maintenance of the product labeling filing system,
assistance with the preparation/compilation of various FDA labeling submissions (for review by
the Senior Associate). Other labeling projects are assigned and completed as necessary. The
student will assist with the preparation of labeling memos of various types and will help
to gather the labeling requested by other departments.
The requirements are as follows:

- The student must currently be enrolled in pharmacy school.
- Prior pharmaceutical experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic word processing/basic computer skills.
- Good organizational skills, detail oriented.

The presentations are about 30 minutes, and students have the opportunity to sign up for interviews after they have attended the Job Fair. (Students must attend a Job Fair and fill out an online application to get an interview.)

Interviews are conducted over a 2 week period, and students who are selected for positions will be notified by e-mail and given information on signing up for training sessions and getting on payroll.
