Last Day to Drop a Class (P-1,2,3): Friday, March 16. LKS Hygeia Day (P-1,2,3,4): LKS is hosting Hygeia Day (not to be confused with the Bowl of Hygeia or white coat ceremony) on Thursday, March 8th. Dr. Colleen Watkins will be doing a presentation on Lupus! The presentation starts at 7:00 PM in the John Jones rooms in the HSC and should last about an hour. All students, faculty, and guests are invited to attend Hygeia Day. This presentation is free, but an RSVP is required by next Monday, March 5 to Ashley Reed (areed@sole.wvu.edu). If you have any questions, please contact Ashley. Polar Plunge Results (P-1,2,3,4): Mr. McIntire reports " I totaled up the school's efforts today and they were outstanding. We had 34 people participate (including three faculty) and raised $3854 for Special Olympics. This is about $1300 more than we have done before, so kudos to the students for a great effort, especially the 1st year class that raised almost $2200 themselves." Bartlett House 5K Charity Race (P-1,2,3,4): The website for the April 28th race, www.runforcover5k.org is functioning (internet explorer has to be used to open the site). Students can go there to register and look up how many community service hours they are eligible for under the “guidelines” section. The race is not just limited to students! Formal Tickets ( P-1,2,3,4): A reminder that tickets for the SOP Formal, to be held Saturday, April 14, 7PM at de Lazy Lizard banquet room on High Street will be on sale Tuesdays- Fridays (Feb 27-Mar 16)in the hallway of the Clinical Department. Cost is $25 per person and includes dinner which starts at 7:30. Block Registration (P-1,2,3): Students are reminded that although the SOP will block register you for your required courses and your summer and fall rotations, that registration will be invalidated if you have any outstanding parking tickets or monies due the University. Should a student's block registration be invalidated, the student must then register for all her/his required courses/ rotations her/himself. Daylight Savings Time (P-1,2,3,4): A reminder that daylight savings time begins March 11 this year, 3 weeks earlier than usual. As a result, some computer and PDA programs may not be able to make the conversion, resulting in a one hour lag on scheduled appointments. Check your appointment calendar on March 11 to see if the times were adjusted ahead. Lost and Found (P-1,2,3,4): 1. White lab coat, size 8, left in a classroom 2. A pair of dark-gray tinted Revo sunglasses found in the SOP area of the Polar Plunge. Both items are being held in the SOP main office (room 1136). |
