Cavanaugh's Mugs (P-1,2,3,4): As many of you know, a dedication was held recently, announcing the naming of the café in the Learning Center Commons. Cavanaugh’s Café is named after a wonderful lady in the Health Sciences Center history. Mrs. Elsie Cavanaugh owned and operated the cafeteria on the ground floor of the Basic Sciences Building from 1957 through 1972. Health Sciences students remember her as a mother figure, who permitted cash-strapped students to get their meals with the simple promise of paying her back whenever they could.

Commemorative mugs are available this one time for purchase for $8.00 at Cavanaugh’s Café. When you purchase one of these 14 oz. mugs, it will include a free fill-up of coffee. Your next refill will be provided at $1.45 (the price of a 12oz coffee). Some of the profits from the Cavanaugh Cafe will be used to support HSC student activities.

The Cavanaugh Café is open Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to have a piece of memorabilia from HSC’s history.

NCPA is a smaller organization that promotes independent pharmacy and encourages its members take on community projects that matter to them. Leadership positions are still available. We look forward to seeing you!
