WVU SOP & Media Coverage of Legislative Day (P-1,2,3,4): From Dr. Lucas in Charleston-
The immunization issue was highlighted on the 7 PM and 11 PM newscasts of Channel 13 WOWK last night. WVU got the sound bite and most of the visual coverage. The poster with the map was highlighted and several of our students were shown in the 1 minute clip. I'm always nervous about how the media will cut our words, but the message they included in the sound bite was "opening care to more West Virginians" and "preventing diseases," so I was pleased with their editing this time. Just thought you may want to know. Thanks for all of your support to make this legislative day so successful!

ASP Lunchtime program (P-1,2,3,4): ASP is hosting a lunchtime presentation with guest speaker George Neyarapally, PharmD, on Friday, February 8th, noon - 1pm in the HSC Auditorium. The title of his presentation is: VCU-ACCP-ASHP Pharmacy Healthcare Policy Fellowship 2006-2007. Dr. Neyarapally's fellowship consisted of working with the ASHP government affairs office, the ACCP government affairs office, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the United States Senate. Pizza will be provided!

Relay for Life SOP Yearbook (P-1,2,3,4): This is just a reminder that media release forms and yearbook orders need to be received by FRIDAY FEBRUARY 1ST. Attached are the forms. Please email Christy Fields if you cannot meet this deadline.
From Christy:
The Yearbook is a great fundraiser for Relay for Life and is a terrific memorabilia item. The historians did an incredible job creating the pages for the organizations and there is a great variety of images from social/educational events. If you are debating buying a yearbook, I would strongly advise you to go ahead and purchase one. The goal was to sell 200 yearbooks and right now, we have only sold about half of that. TRUST ME, THIS WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING BOOKs YOU PURCHASE IN PHARMACY SCHOOL :) AND QUITE POSSIBLY A BOOK EVERY STUDENT WILL WANT TO READ!!!

Many pharmacy students have children, so we decided to dedicate a page in the yearbook to "Future Pharmacists". If you would like your child/children to be featured in the "Future Pharmacists" page, please email a photo (individual or family) with the child's name and the names of the parents to cfields@sole.wvu.edu.

Thanks to everyone who have purchased yearbooks or have submitted photos.
