Pre-Pharmacy Curriculum

High School students are encouraged to focus on the sciences, including higher mathematics, in order to prepare for pre-pharmacy coursework. 

Pre-pharmacy courses may be completed at any accredited institution with coursework recognized by West Virginia University.  For admission consideration, student must complete:

credit hours of calculus

credit hours of microeconomics

 

3

credit hours of statistics

 

8

credit hours of biology

 

8

credit hours of general chemistry

 

8

credit hours of organic chemistry

 

8

credit hours of physics

 

3-4

credit hours of microbiology

 

6

credit hours of English composition

 

18-21

credit hours of electives satisfying WVU's liberal studies or GEC requirements.

NOTE: Students at WVU are also required to take University 101 to complete degree requirements.
