It is once again time to pre-register for the upcoming semester. Outlined below are the procedures we will follow in the School of Pharmacy as well as other important information.

  • To review the elective policy, please click here.  If a student has questions or disputes this summary, please schedule an appointment with Dean Ridgway or Jennifer Clutter to discuss the matter.

  • All students will be block registered by my office. Exceptions include any additional electives. The STAR system is to be used when any other courses are added.  You may do this on the web if you wish by going to the STAR web page at http://star.wvu.edu/.

  • Exclusive Star Access and Priority for Professional/Graduate students begins on October 16 and runs until October 23 when undergrad seniors gain access. All students should register for electives and rotations via STAR before the end of Thanksgiving break in order that billing and financial aid can be processed in a timely manner.

  • The Schedule of Courses (newspaper) will be available at various sites on campus, but can also be obtained on line at www.arc.wvu.edu/course/coursemain.htm

If students are asking to take additional electives and their number of credit hours go over the 20 credit hour limit, they must seek approval through the Academic Standards Committee to exceed the maximum credit hour load. These students will have to obtain a credit hour overload permission form to register for the additional courses as well. They can see me for this form once they have been approved to take the additional course. Letters of Petition to the Academic Standards Committee must be submitted to my office before November 1, 2006. Permits are required for students registering for Pharmacy 749. If this permit if not on file in my office, I will automatically drop the student from the course.

  • Courses that are restricted to majors or certain levels, will not allow students not under those classifications to register for the course; therefore, be sure not to register for courses for which you do not qualify. If a student still wishes to take a course of this nature, they will need to seek a permit through the teaching instructor.
