M-health patient education intervention study targets injured adult patients and addresses decision to use opioid pain relievers
Using m-Health tools to reduce the misuse of opioid pain relievers funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The specific aims of the OPR project are to develop an evidence-in-formed and theory-based m-health patient education intervention for injured adult ED patients addressing both decision making about whether to use OPRs and, when used, their safe use, storage and disposal; and pilot test the intervention in urban and rural hospital ED settings to evaluate its feasibility and potential impact. The 2.5 year study will involve 2 study sites: Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and West Virginia University.
