Welcome
Welcome to the Web Pages of the Center for Respiratory Biology and Lung Disease at the WVU Health Sciences Center, or simply The Lung Center. Our Center is dedicated to promoting healthy lungs in people of all ages and in combating lung diseases.
The Center is people that care about how lungs work, what keeps them healthy, and the best ways to treat and prevent lung diseases. Our people include faculty, fellows, students and staff working together to achieve our goals. We are determined our Center will address issues in Lung Health and Disease in West Virginia and beyond.
We are basic scientists identifying mechanisms that cause lung disease, clinicians that treat people afflicted by lung disease, and public health professionals that work in the community to promote lung health and help people in the community adapt to the daily difficulties of having lung diseases. We think that the best way to prevent and treat lung disease is through collaborations that combine research, treatment, and community-based understanding.
There are many excellent programs and people working together in the Lung Center. Please take the time to explore the exciting research projects studying the effects of environmental exposures on the lungs and cardiovascular system. Be sure to read about the outstanding clinical treatments being administered by Center Physicians. And learn about the nationally acclaimed community programs for smoking cessation.
The Lung Center is all about you and helping you have healthier lungs and a happier life.
