UNIVERSITY HEALTH ASSOCIATES
Welcome to the University Health Associates ("UHA") team. As you begin your employment with UHA, you will immediately see an organization striving to develop and maintain an environment in which all members can reach their full potential as an efficient organization and valued community resource. Enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism by our employees are the keys that allow UHA to achieve that service.
As an employee, you will be expected to carry out your job functions in a professional manner. Always remember that we are a service business and that our patients are job one. Your best efforts will aid in ensuring our obligation of high-quality service to the public. You are a very important member of our team.
This employee handbook summarizes some of UHA's policies, employment practices and the benefits currently available. It is your responsibility to be familiar with the contents of this handbook. Your benefits are further described in your benefit booklets, which are consistently reviewed and modified as the need arises. If there are any differences between the Employee Handbook and the benefit booklets, the benefit booklets prevail. UHA, in its sole discretion, reserves the right, at any time, to amend, modify, alter or terminate any statements or policies in this handbook as well as any employee benefits. Any questions you may have regarding this policy handbook may be directed to your immediate supervisor or the UHA Human Resources Department.
We wish you a rewarding and pleasant working experience with University Health Associates.
This handbook sets forth policies and guidelines for your review during your employment with University Health Associates. UHA continually reviews its personnel policies and employment benefits and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, supplement, amend or delete any of the provisions contained in this handbook or any employee benefits at any time. This handbook does not represent all policies of UHA but is designed to give guidance to many essential UHA personnel policies.
Unless an employee has a written contract signed by the President of UHA specifying an employment term, employment is "at will". This means that both UHA and the employee have the right to terminate employment at any time, with or without cause. However, within the parameters of good business practice, reasonable notice of termination is appreciated (Re-employment – p. 3). Nothing in this handbook, or any oral or written representation by an employee, manager or supervisor of UHA, shall be construed as a contract of employment, unless the President of UHA signs a written contract of employment.
