POSITION SUMMARY:  Assists other members of the Healthcare team in providing quality resident care as directed by and under the supervision of the professional nurse.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

2.

Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.

High School diploma or equivalent.

1.

Prepares patients, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and provides assistance as required.

2.

Obtains and records patient data for medical records and informing RN of information collected.

3.

Assists patient with person care including, but not limited to, feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothing, cleaning and trimming fingernails, bed-making, assisting with ambulation, enemas, skin care, and bowel and bladder elimination; provide such additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients.

4.

Assists RN with patient examinations by helping position patients, changing non-sterile dressing and weighing patients.

5.

Takes and records patient’s vital signs. Notes and reports any changes in patient's condition to RN.

6.

Turns and positions patients, sets up and feeds patient as necessary.

7.

Assists with patient admission, discharge, and transportation.

8.

Collects, delivers and conducts routine testing on patient specimens.

9.

Cleans assigned area; stocks and replenishes supplies and equipment as required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
