POSITION
SUMMARY: A Dietetic Specialist
assignment generally requires greater responsibility than a Dietetic
Assistant. Dietetic Specialist assignments include cashier
(including Doctor’s Dining and Espresso), catering, and storeroom. Customer satisfaction is crucial to these
assignments. |
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: |

EDUCATION,
CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: |
|
1. |
Must have a
valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health
Department (MCHD) prior to starting OR obtain a MCHD Temporary FSWP
no later than the first Wednesday of employment* and a permanent MCHD FSWP
within 1 month of start date (next available class). Must have a valid MCHD FSWP
throughout employment. *Until a
Temporary FSWP is obtained: May not handle exposed food or any food
contact surface, equipment or utensil; May be trained on tray delivery and
complete general department orientation. |

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. |
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The

Properly handles cash, credit cards,
payroll deductions and meal vouchers
following department policies |
2. |
Efficiently and
accurately operates the register system including correct change, asking
customers to open containers and over/under deposits within department
compliance guidelines. |
3. |
Reviews the menu, pricing and register
screen prior to starting shift. |
4. |
Maintains work area throughout
shift. Area is clean and well stocked. |
5. |
Follows all recipes and techniques
when preparing beverages. |
6. |
Assembles supplies needed for catered
events. |
7. |
Sets-up, delivers, serves and cleans
catered events according to established standards. |
8. |
Interacts with customers in a
professional courteous manner. For
catered events, service is quiet an unobtrusive. |
9. |
Items are stored according to FDA Food
Code |
10. |
Work with vendors regarding deliveries,
orders, pars and proper storage. |
11. |
Items are inspected during receiving
and unacceptable products are rejected and documented for credit. |
12. |
Follows training and safety procedures
when operating equipment. Equipment is cleaned and properly stored. |
13. |
Inventories assigned areas and stocks
to par. Assembles and delivers orders
for a variety of areas. |
14. |
Dietetic
Assistant duties may be assigned as needed. |

food and supply items and equipment of up to 50 lbs. (150 lbs. & ability to push or pull
4000 lbs. in inventory positions.) |
