POSITION SUMMARY:  Maintains strategic oversight and operational performance across the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. Provides management, tracking and reporting on rapidly evolving financial and business operations, human resource matters, and facilities, staff and operations.  Provides leadership, guidance, and direction in achieving outcomes consistent with a unified organizational mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives. Assumes leadership for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of effective and efficient systems of care and service across the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.

Advanced certificate in Healthcare Administration or Advanced Degree with Master’s in healthcare related field.

EXPERIENCE:

1.

Six (6) years operational management experience in a healthcare setting.

2.

Nine (9) years’ experience in a healthcare leadership position.

3.

Three (3) Experience managing grants, research applications, funds, and budgets.

4.

Five (5) Experience developing business and operational plans.

5.

Three (3) Project management experience.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

1.

Six (6) years operational management experience in a healthcare setting, academic setting preferred.

2.

Experience developing and managing budgets of at least multi-million and teams of at least 100 individuals preferred.

1.

Develops business plans for multidisciplinary strategic programs as well as organizational design optimizing resources and opportunities for a unified management system.

2.

Drives initiatives, programs and services to enable the WVU Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute delivers on its mission, strategies, metrics and goals

3.

Responsible for fiscal oversight of capital and operating budgets for the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and its defined interests. 

4.

Manages, documents and reports on human resource matters.

5.

Establish annual and long-term service line quality, service, and financial goals

6.

Provides leadership, implementation and direction for the Annual Operating Plan

7.

Oversees the Quality and Performance Improvement functions and ensures metrics are met

8.

Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of care delivery models and services

9.

Facilitates collaborative working relations with key physician and hospital leaders throughout WVU, WVUH, University Health Associates (UHA) and West Virginia University’s School of Medicine

10.

Ensures appropriate development and implementation of Outreach and Marketing strategies, including, referral relations, community outreach, CME offerings, advertising programs etc.

11.

Supports clinical research with WVU, within WVUH and School of Medicine in support of faculty, resident and patient care interests, and manages research grants applications, reports, and budgets

12.

The AVP will work closely with the respective leadership to ensure the WVU Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute is meeting the organization’s specific metrics, needs and priorities

13.

Oversees the RNI multidisciplinary and specialty programs, to include clinical and business operations. 

14.

Oversees the Strategic Plan for the WVU Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute in collaboration with the Executive Chairman, Chairman(s), Vice President of Operations, WVUHC Chief Medical Officer, and the Service Line Council.
