Positions & Qualifications

ABSTRACTOR

Reads and abstracts data from patient medical records for all medical specialties at UHA.  Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes based on current regulations and coding guidelines in compliance with UHA Compliance Policy. 

Minimum Education:  High school diploma or equivalent required and Certification required, as follows:  Certification as Certified Procedural Coder (CPC), or Certification as Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based, (CCS-P), or Certification as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT, formerly Accredited Records Technician( (ART)). Continued employment contingent upon maintaining appropriate certification.  Prior medical billing required.  Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology or medical terminology required.  Working knowledge of federal and state laws and third party payor guidelines pertaining to medical billing required.  Strong knowledge of Medicare billing regulations, general coding guidelines and UHA's Compliance Policy preferred.

Minimum Work Experience: If CPC Certified, three years experience in medical coding required.  If RHIT Certified, two years experience in medical coding required.   If CCS-P Certified, one year experience in medical coding required.  Previous clinical experience as a RN, LPN or Medical Assistant highly desirable and will substitute for coding experience.  Previous medical office experience preferred.

 

ACCOUNTANT

Performs general accounting duties. Assists with preparation of financial reports and with other projects as assigned.  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Facilitates payment of all departmental expenditures.  This involves reimbursements to faculty and staff and payments to the University and outside suppliers. High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years related work experience required.

 

ADJUNCT THERAPIST

Serves as a counselor and crisis intervention specialist. Conducts assessments, diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients of inpatient, outpatient and day hospitalization.  Master's degree in Social Work or a related field is required.  LGSW licensure or higher and two years of related experience is required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Provides administrative support to the department.  Assists with fiscal matters and special projects.  High school diploma or equivalent and three years of progressively responsible administrative experience required.  One year of supervisory experience highly desired.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR, SPONSORED PROGRAMS

Responsible for supporting the administrative and operational management of the research infrastructure for the School of Medicine based on applicable policies and procedures established by state/federal regulatory agencies, WVU, WVU Research Corp., and external funding agencies.  Serves as advisor to School of Medicine and Health Sciences administrators (Assoc. Dean, AVP, VP, and Chairs) in the continual development and refinement of the infrastructure to accommodate research activities.  Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field required.  Three years experience in a responsible administrative position in grant administration required.  Familiarity with medical and scientific terminology preferred.  Knowledge of institutional policies/guidelines relevant to grant administration preferred.  Experience may substitute for degree.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

ADMINISTRATOR

Maintains responsibility for planning financial and personnel activities for the department.  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required.  Master's degree preferred.  Three years’ experience at the administrator level required, preferably in the health care field.  Experience with managed care issues preferred.  Experience in an academic environment preferred.

 

ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT

Provides administrative support to the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation by managing specific projects that are of a highly confidential nature. Manages the day-to-day operations of the UHA Administrative Office. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field and three years related experience required. Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

BENEFITS COORDINATOR

Provides administrative and technical support to the Benefits function of the Human Resources Department.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Two years experience in Human Resources, accounting, payroll or related office experience required.  Prior employee benefits experience preferred.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

BILLING ANALYST

Performs billing functions in accordance with billing standards set forth by UHA Compliance Policy, insurance regulations and coding guidelines. 

Minimum Education:  High school diploma or equivalent required and Certification required, as follows:  Certification as Certified Procedural Coder (CPC), which must be obtained within 12 months from hire date, or Certification as Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based, (CCS-P), or Certification as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT, formerly Accredited Records Technician( (ART)). Continued employment contingent upon maintaining appropriate certification.  Knowledge of anatomy, physiology or medical terminology preferred.  Working knowledge of federal and state laws and third party payor guidelines pertaining to medical billing required.  Strong knowledge of Medicare billing regulations, general coding guidelines and UHA's Compliance Policy preferred.

BILLING ASSISTANT

Performs limited billing functions in accordance with billing standards set forth in the UHA Compliance Policy, insurance regulations and coding guidelines. 

Minimum Education:    High school diploma or equivalent required.  Knowledge of anatomy, physiology or medical terminology preferred.  Working knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to medical billing preferred.  Familiar with ICD-9 and CPT coding principles preferred.    Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or Certified Procedural Coder Apprentice (CPC-A) highly desired.

Minimum Work Experience:  One year of work experience.  Experience with medical billing strongly preferred.

 

BILLING SPECIALIST

Directs departmental billing process and communicates to staff all billing related issues.

BUDGET & FINANCIAL OPERATIONS ANALYST

Provides high level accounting, budgeting and financial analysis services for the Associate Vice President's Office of the Health Sciences Center.  This position serves as the primary staff support position for the HSC Budget & Financial Operations Director and performs responsibilities of a complex nature which requires full proficiency at this job.   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with three years experience required. In depth experience with the Oracle suite required.  Experience with State of WV Accounting System (FIMS) and prior higher education experience preferred. 

 

BUYER

Assists with the procurement of a variety of supplies and/or services required by the Corporation within the scope of authority delegated and in accordance with UHA Purchasing policies and procedures.  Seeks to obtain the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price.  Performs distribution, follow-up and expediting services provided by the Purchasing Department consistent with the needs of the Corporation.  Assures the efficient processing, inventory, storage, distribution and costing of all stocked supplies and printed forms.  High school diploma or equivalent and one year of direct purchasing-related (buyer) experience required.  Knowledge of accounting principles and computer experience preferred.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE

Confirms, cancels, and reschedules appointments by telephone utilizing the computerized scheduling system.  Interviews patients to obtain demographic and financial information.  Transfers calls as needed. High school diploma or equivalent required.  One year of customer service experience and the ability to type required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIFE

Works in conjunction with physicians, other midwifes, and the nursing staff to improve and advocate for the provision of high quality antepartum/postpartum care for normal obstetrics patients.  Utilizes expert knowledge in working with nursing staff, physician staff, residents and students, in the provision of patient education, facilitation of care processes, quality assurance.  Masters of Science in Nursing degree.  License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of WV.  Advanced certification as a Nurse Midwife.  2 years experiences as a Nurse Midwife.

 

CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETIST

Provides administration of anesthesia, including appropriate monitoring and supportive care as determined by consultation with anesthesiologist.  Graduate of a nurse anesthesia program that meets the standards of the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs required.  Six months experience as a CRNA required.  MSN can substitute for experience.  WV licensure and current certification or recertification by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetist required.  ACLS highly desired.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

 CHIEF PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Evaluates patients in an Level I Trauma Center emergency department setting, forms clinical assessments, makes appropriate medical management decisions, and delivers appropriate patient care under the supervision of a faculty physician board certified or eligible in the practice of emergency medicine in accordance with the scope of practice defined by the West Virginia State Code, State Board of Medicine, and the West Virginia University Hospital Medical Staff By Laws. Must be a graduate of an approved physician assistant school and must be certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners. A graduate of a CAHEA (Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation) approved Class A PA training program.  Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants required. 

 

 CHIEF SURGICAL ASSISTANT

Serves as a liaison between the surgical assistants and faculty and staff.  The chief surgical assistant will work closely with the faculty coordinator of the surgical assistant program.  These duties are in addition to their clinical surgical assistant duties.  Must be a graduate of an approved physician assistant school and must be certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, having passed the surgical assistant examination. A graduate of a CAHEA (Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation) approved Class A PA training program.  Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants required. 

 

CLERICAL ASSISTANT

Primarily interacts with internal and external customers to assist with directions, answer questions, and communicate information are communicated accurately and timely.    High school diploma or equivalent required.  Minimum of two years in a customer service orientated position preferred. 

 

STUDENT ASSISTANT CLERK

Provides filing support and retrieves various information for the Billing, Collections & A/R Department.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  One year of work experience preferred.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

CLINICAL ASSISTANT

Performs various duties related to patient care and treatment as directed by attending providers.  Confirms, cancels, and reschedules appointments in person, by telephone or by mail utilizing the computerized scheduling system.  Interviews patients to obtain demographic and financial information.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Graduate of a medical assistant training program or one year experience, as a medical assistant required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

CLINICAL DIETITIAN

Provides nutritional counseling to patients seen in a multi-disciplinary outpatient setting.  Coordinates and implements the nutrition intervention component of research studies.  In support of departmental and Physician Office Center goals and missions, conducts educational programs dealing with nutrition and diet therapy for the Physician Office Center and the community.  Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and one year experience required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

CME CONFERENCE PLANNER

Plans and organizes educational programs and activities targeting physicians and allied health professionals in West Virginia and surrounding states to assure financial success and compliance with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Essentials and Standards for Commercial Support. Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, English, Journalism, Health Sciences, Education, Business Administration or related field and one year prior experience required. Knowledge of ACCME requirements preferred. Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COLLECTION ANALYST

Implements the collection procedures of UHA in order to obtain payment of the necessary information to settle or adjust the patient accounts.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  One year of collection experience or training required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COMPLIANCE ANALYST

Assist with implementation and facilitation of  issue resolution strategies, communication strategies, training, and auditing/monitoring functions as indicated in the University Health Associates (UHA) Corporate Compliance Program.  Associates degree or equivalent preferred but not necessarily in the healthcare compliance area.  Certification as RHIT highly desirable.  Certification as CPC, CCS or equivalent coding certification required.  Healthcare background preferred.  A working knowledge of the regulatory environment preferred.  Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 diagnosis coding preferred.  Continued employment contingent upon maintaining certification.  Experience with physician billing and coding required.

 

COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

Assist with implementation and facilitation of ongoing compliance auditing, monitoring, and educational activities as indicated in the University Health Associates (UHA) Corporate Compliance Program. Supports the physician and coding aspects of the UHA Billing/Coding process.  Associates Degree or equivalent preferred but not necessarily in the healthcare compliance area.  CPC, RHIT, CCS or equivalent coding certification required.  Auditing background preferred.  A working knowledge of the regulatory environment preferred.  Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 diagnosis coding.  5 years experience in coding and/or auditing of physician services required.  Prefer experience in multiple specialty areas.        

 

COMPUTER EDUCATOR

Trains all end users on the use of the IDX software system.  High school diploma or equivalent required.   Adult education experiences or Train the Trainer desired.  Two years of practical experience with good presentation skills required.  Knowledge of IDX scheduling and referrals, an understanding of patient flow, general problem solving skills, an eye for detail, average typing skills, a genuine concern for helping others and patience required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.  

 

 COMPUTER NETWORK COORDINATOR

Provides technical support for department in terms of computer network, hardware and software.  Develops, enhances and maintains the internal and external network capabilities for the department.  Implements methods to download and manipulate information for purposes of research, teaching, patient care and administration.  Specialized training in computer systems and applications required.  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.   Extensive knowledge in hardware, software and networking of microcomputers to mainframes and other microcomputers required.  Three years of related experience required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COORDINATOR, ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Facilitates the accounts payable functions. Prepares and performs general ledger functions. Compiles and reports information. High school diploma or equivalent and one year prior related experiences. Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COORDINATOR, ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of non-patient accounts receivable operations. Responsible for generating invoices, leading collection efforts, and recording/reconciling accounts receivable transactions timely and accurately. This is a customer-focused position that requires a strong personality. This position communicates regularly with customers and clinical/non-clinical department representatives.  High school or equivalent required. BA or BS in business highly preferred. Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and procedures as related to accounts receivable required. One year of accounting experience required. Experience with Microsoft Office software required. Experience with MS Access highly desired.

COORDINATOR, ALUMNI PROGRAMS

Develops and implements alumni programs aligned with strategic planning goals and identified needs.  Manages and maintains a centralized data system.  Develops standardized and specialized reports.  Bachelor’s degree and one year prior experience required.  Strong patient relations/customer services skills required.   

 

COORDINATOR, CLINICAL OPERATIONS

Responsible for supporting and coordinating operational activities in the clinic.  Will ensure appropriate support and communication with physicians and other support staff to maintain clinic flow, handle patient complaints, ensure policy and procedures are followed through.  High School diploma or equivalent and three years experience in a clinical setting required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COORDINATOR, CLINICAL TRIALS

Serves as coordinator for a variety of clinical trials and/or studies within the department.  Recruits patients for assigned studies which will involve chart searches, advertisement, referrals and other means as necessary and directed.  Works directly with practice administrator in fiscal matters and with various internal & external physicians, internal & external regulation agencies and a variety of patients.  Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in the sciences and two years experience in clinical trials coordination, required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COORDINATOR, HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Supervises the routine clerical operation of the Health Information Management Department.  Supervises and coordinates the flow of patient charts from active file to inactive file.  Recommends and implements appropriate policy/procedure changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of department.  Coordinates department's Quality Assurance Program.  Maintains awareness of current trends in Health Information Management.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Three years experience in medical records, one of which must be in a supervisory capacity, required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COORDINATOR, HUMAN RESOURCES

Provides administrative and technical support to the Human Resources Department by assisting department supervisors and other support staff with routine and non-routine requests, questions, concerns and problems regarding HR policies and procedures.  Assists UHA departments with requests for salary information and cost centers for budget purposes, coordinates database system, coordinates and assists on various special projects.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Three years progressively responsible experience, preferably in Human Resources, required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COORDINATOR, INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Directs the development, refinement, and maintenance of the department’s information system based on overall program objectives and special needs.  Directs staff training and troubleshooting related to information systems.  Associate’s degree in computer science/programming required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Two years of experience required, preferably with large organization computing systems.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

COORDINATOR, MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS

Directs marketing and public relations efforts of the department, including building patient referral base, developing and managing publications, organizing meetings, and overseeing the editing of manuscripts for publications.  Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Journalism or related field required.  Three years of experience in marketing, public relations and conference planning in a medical setting required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required. 

 

COORDINATOR, RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Provides support and coordination for departmental residency program.  Coordinates with Residency Director residency program policies and implementation of procedure recommendations from the Residency Review Committee (RRC) and the American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).  Plans, implements and supervises special projects within the department.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Graduate of a medical office/secretarial business program or Career College or equivalent preferred.  Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology.  Must possess excellent computer skills and a working knowledge of Power Point, Access, Excel, and Word.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.  Three years administrative experience required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required. 

 

CREDIT RESEARCH SPECIALIST

Researches and resolves credit balance invoices on patients’ accounts.  Determines if refund or adjustment should be made to the account and processes accordingly.  Corrects patient registration information.  Resubmits claims to the insurance carrier requesting payment.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  One year of work experience required.  Basic accounting experience preferred.  Knowledge of third party payors, medical insurance and medical billing preferred.  Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.  Previous clinical experience highly desired.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

DENTAL ASSISTANT

Provides clinic assistance to faculty or resident providing treatment to patients.  Ensures availability of supplies at all times.  Performs chair-side, hands-on assistance with patients and charting.  Performs clerical/receptionist functions.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Graduate of an accredited dental assisting or surgical assisting program required.  Six months experience in dental assisting required.  One year of dental assisting experience may substitute for formal training.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

DENTAL HYGIENIST

Provides a range of dental hygiene services, with emphasis on preventive care and patient education, to patients being managed in the faculty practice clinics of the School of Dentistry.  Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene required.  Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene preferred.  WV licensure as a Dental Hygienist required.  Three months of previous experience as a practicing hygienist preferred.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Manages personnel and provides administrative support to the department.  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required.  One year professional experience required.  Healthcare experience highly desired.  Experience may substitute for degree.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

DIABETES NURSE EDUCATOR

Assists the Endocrinologist with clinical and administrative management of the division.  Provides direct care and patient education.  Provides personnel development.  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred.  Three years experience as a Diabetes Educator required.  Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.  WV licensure preferred.  Certification as a Diabetes Educator required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANT

Assists Manager, Employment & Training and Employment Representative in the employment process.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  One year of clerical experience and the ability to type required.  Personal computer experience highly desired.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Provides support to the Dean or Vice President within the School of Medicine or Dentistry. Responsible for operation and supervision of the administrative office. Maintains Vice President/Dean’s schedule and is responsible for coordination of all meetings. Plans and coordinates special events. Bachelor’s degree and two years related experience required, preferably in a health care and medical education environment. Will substitute substantial executive assistant experience for the degree.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required. 

 

FINANCIAL COUNSELOR

Provides financial counseling to patients with delinquent accounts making proper agency referrals, completing financial statements and setting payment arrangements.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Two years of experience in patient accounts, collections or public assistance required.  Knowledge of financial assistance agencies affiliated with the state and federal government highly desired.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

HEALTH INFORMATION ASSISTANT

Retrieves, files, and delivers medical records at the Physician Office Center.  Adds loose material and performs quality checks on records.  High school diploma or equivalent required and one year of medical records experience preferred.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Provides daily administrative support to the Coordinator, Human Resources and the Manager, Training and Development.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  One year of progressively responsible experience required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

INFORMATION IMAGING ASSISTANT

Prepares and scans medical records from its current paper format to digitalized image format.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Previous medical records experience preferred.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

LEAD HEALTH INFORMATION ASSISTANT

Acts as liaison between the Director of Health Information Management, the Health Information Management Staff, and support staff in the Department.  Follows guidelines set forth by University Health Associates and the Health Information Management department.  Assists in assuring the medical record meets all requirements to effectively and efficiently promote customer satisfaction and assures continuity of patient care.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Graduate of Accredited Health Information program preferred.  One year of previous experience required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

LEAD NURSE

Participates in the supervision and coordination of nursing activities in the unit.  Provides safe and effective patient care by ensuring adherence to medical protocol established by medical board.  Organizes medical and nursing activities.  Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.  Two years progressively responsible experience required of which one year must be supervisory.  Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of West Virginia.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

 LEAD OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN

Responsible for general patient workups in the clinical area, with direction from the clinic manager.  Will complete diagnostic testing on patients for subspecialty and comprehensive clinics as outlined in the JCAHPO handbook and assist in supervising clinical staff and daily activities.    High school diploma or equivalent required.  Associates degree with emphasis in the sciences preferred.  Successful completion of a formal, two year CAAHEP approved training course is highly desirable.  One year of experience as a COT  and one year of supervisory experience is required. LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Provides nursing support to physicians and provides direct nursing care to patients in the clinic.  Graduate of a practical nursing program required.  WV licensure required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Responsible for all maintenance and custodial functions including routine building maintenance and custodial duties as well as seasonal outside jobs.   High school diploma or equivalent required.  Three months experience required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

MANAGED CARE SPECIALIST

Coordinates and documents referral and service authorization functions for managed care patients.  Completes, coordinates and monitors necessary paperwork for in-network and out-of-network referrals.  Responsible for minimizing reimbursement errors as a result of inappropriate referral and enrollment information.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Medical terminology and CPT coding preferred.  One year of experience and the ability to type required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

MANAGER, BILLING

Optimizes departmental reimbursement through analysis, assessment and monitoring of current billing policies and procedures. Audits current methods of billing and develops revisions of policies and procedures. Manages the day to day functions of the departmental billing to ensure compliance and billing standards are met.

Minimum Education:  High school diploma or equivalent required and  Certification required, as follows:  Certification as Certified Procedural Coder (CPC), or Certification as Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based, (CCS-P), or Certification as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT, formerly Accredited Records Technician( (ART)). Continued employment contingent upon maintaining appropriate certification.  Extensive experience in medical billing required.  Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology or medical terminology required.  Working knowledge of federal and state laws and third party payor guidelines pertaining to medical billing required.  Strong knowledge of Medicare billing regulations, general coding guidelines and UHA's Compliance Policy preferred.

Minimum Work Experience: If CPC Certified, four years experience in medical coding required, of which one year of supervisory responsibility required.  If RHIT Certified, three years experience in medical coding required, of which one year of supervisory responsibility required.   If CCS-P Certified, two years experience in medical coding required, of which one year of supervisory responsibility required.  Previous clinical experience as a RN, LPN or Medical Assistant highly desirable and will substitute for coding experience.  Previous medical office experience preferred.

Provides supervision of the operation in the MRI Center. MEDICAL ASSISTANT

MRI, TECHNOLOGIST

Our  Center is equipped with state of the art GE and Siemens MRI equipment that includes a Signa 1.5T echo-speed, 1.5T Symphony Quantum magnet with Syngo MREase software, and a clinical/research large bore 3T. The technologist must be a graduate of an accredited American Medical Association approved course in Radiologic Technology.  A Professional Registry Certification (ARRT) and Basic Life Support Certification are required.  No former MRI experience needed.  The technologists will be trained in a clinical setting in the most advanced MRI technology

 

NURSE CLINICIAN

Provides specialized nursing care for patients being treated by the department.  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.  Bachelor's degree in nursing highly desired.  Three years of nursing experience and WV licensure required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Assesses, treats, solves problems, teaches and refers patients.  Participates in the education of residents and medical students.  Performs diagnostic procedures and therapeutic procedures.  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.  Successful completion of an accredited university-affiliated practitioner program is required.  Three years experience preferred and WV licensure required.  Strong patient relations/customer service skills required.

 

NURSING ASSISTANT

Provides centralized pre-registration services for patients scheduled in UHA clinics.  Acts as interface between WVUH and UHA in interpreting, verifying, and transferring complete registration information from reports into database accounts for services in certain WVUH locations.  Researches existing charges for each account updated and re-bills appropriate claims with corrected insurance information. High school diploma or equivalent required. This position is responsible for managing the functional operations of billing, collections and A/R management to include policy and procedure development, internal and external communications, statistical reporting, trend analysis, issue resolution, budget management and human resource management.  Bachelor's Degree with 3 years supervisory experience in the health care industry.  Will substitute the degree with equivalent years of experience.  Working knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 coding and regulatory compliance guidelines.  CPC or RHIT strongly preferred.

TRANSPLANT COORDINATOR
