The Health Service and Outcomes Research Seminars from the WV CoHORTS Center is a forum to bring together researchers from within and outside West Virginia University to shareresearch findings. The goal is to “teach, learn, and collaborate.” West Virginia and the Appalachian region have high mortality and morbidity rates due to poverty, low education levels, inadequate access to care, and unemployment. The long-term goal of this Center is to establish a center of excellence that produces ongoing, rigorous research in health services and health outcomes that will focusonreducing health disparities and improve the overall health of the citizens of West Virginia.
