Collaborative Research Development/Networking Core

Purpose:

This core will facilitate collaborative relationship-building and networking for health services research development among members of the CoHORTS Center.  Effective utilization of the research infrastructure built through the CoHORTS Center will be critical to achieving the long-term goals of promoting health services research in West Virginia (WV).  Therefore, it is imperative to ensure that interested researchers and potential users of the infrastructure are aware of the availability of such resources in the form of data and complementary expertise.  There is also a need to create a directory of health services and health outcomes researchers in WV to facilitate collaborative research.

Goals:

  • Build awareness about the WV CoHORTS Center, and invite and facilitate utilization of the infrastructure by researchers across WV who have experience or an interest in conducting health services or health outcomes research in the State.
  • Conduct a series of activities with the purpose of bringing various investigators together to stimulate multidisciplinary health services or health outcomes research.
  • Create a task force to develop a plan for recruitment of new health services researchers and resource investments for expansion and long-term growth of health services research at WVU Health Sciences Center.
