Weekly Calendar
Breakthrough Blitz
A biweekly summary of three recently published breakthroughs in neuroscience. The eight-minute presentations are delivered by a scientist, a clinician, and a trainee followed by a five-minute question/answer session. The Blitzes are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month in the Fukushima Lecture Hall at 5:00pm (hors d'oeuvres at 4:30pm).
Seminars in Neuroscience
On a weekly basis, neuroscientists visit our campus primarily through participation in the Department of Neurobiology & Anatomy seminar series. Visiting neuroscientists hosted through other departmental series are listed in the weekly preview of CN events.

Notable Neuroscientists Seminar Series
One to two times per semester, we invite a leader of neuroscience research to visit the Health Sciences Center. These guest lecturers are invited to give two presentations: the first, a science talk based on their research; the second, a more general, philosophical talk—"big picture" perspectives—on the current and future states of neuroscience.
The Notable Neuroscientists
Annual Retreat
An annual gathering of all faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students at a regional resort to discuss research topics and strategies within the Center.

SURI
For ten weeks in the summer, the Center offers up to fifteen internships of research-intensive training for qualified undergraduate students from across the nation through its Summer Undergraduate Research Internship program (SURI). Interns are expected to complete a well-defined research project under the supervision of a Center faculty member. Trainees attend seminars, weekly lab meetings, and other events as announced.
SURI Program
WV COBRE INBRE Annual Conference
Each year participants from the West Virginia COBRE and INBRE award meet to share their program's progress and to determine ways to collaborate on research and share core facilities. The 4th Annual WV COBRE INBRE Conference was hosted by the Sensory Neuroscience Research Center at West Virginia University on October 26th and 27th, 2008.
