Our approach brings the appropriate people and technologies together to solve scientific questions. By creating a critical mass of expertise in targeted research areas in neuroscience, we facilitate interactions within and among these investigative teams. Our style of inquiry combines molecular to systems levels of analysis and offers breadth and depth of training to students and fellows. Our scientists are united by their fascination and excitement in studying the most mysterious of biological systems, the nervous system.
Our research strengths lie in studies of sensory systems, cognition, behavioral neuroscience, and cellular responses to injury. These areas involve our scientists in studies of congenital disorders, stroke models, degenerative disease, and other topics in clinical neuro-science.
We are currently advertising for magnet scientists to form a new group focused upon neuropsychiatric disease and lead an expanded investigation of stroke causes, treatment, and nervous system rehabilitation. Please tour our web site and learn more about the WVU Center for Neuroscience.
