Cassie Thomas, marketing and communications director for WVU's School of Medicine, was named to Leadership West Virginia's Class of 2025, which includes 56 outstanding leaders from across the state, representing a diverse range of industries and communities.
Participants were selected from an impressive list of nominated applicants who demonstrate exceptional leadership, commitment to their communities and a strong passion for advancing the State of West Virginia.
As part of Leadership West Virginia's curriculum, participants will engage in a dynamic educational and experience-based curriculum that explores key issues, as well as geography and industry successes and challenges in the healthcare, education, energy, government, tourism and other sectors. Participants will have opportunities to enhance their leadership and communications skills, explore different regions of the state and connect with more than 1,600 program alumni.
Along with Thomas, several WVU employees were selected to participate in Leadership West Virginia's Class of 2025, including:
- Meredith Balas, Director of the Nemacolin Hospitality Lab at West Virginia University
- Katie Farmer, Executive Director of Strategic Priorities
- Lori Ogden, Associate Director of the Institute of Math Learning
Leadership West Virginia is a statewide, non-profit education and leadership development program that cultivates leaders from a variety of industries and regions across West Virginia. The program aims to enhance their knowledge, not only of the challenges facing the state, but also of its unique attributes and diversity, and to develop and motivate them to use their talents and abilities to inspire others and foster a new spirit of energy, enthusiasm, and vitality throughout the state.
