The Family Medicine Foundation of West Virginia Board is pleased to announce that Reagan Sharp, a 4th year medical student at the West Virginia University School of Medicine has been selected as recipient of the Tully Scholarship award.
The Tully Scholarship is a scholarship program available to third and fourth year medical students enrolled in a school of medicine in West Virginia who pledge to remain in-state and practice Family Medicine. Recipients of the Tully Scholarship are awarded $6,000 each year they remain in good standing in medical school. The Tully Scholarship was designed to help promote and encourage family physicians to practice in West Virginia, especially in underserved rural areas. The scholarship is forgiven if the recipient practices Family Medicine in West Virginia for a period of no less than one year upon completion of an approved Family Medicine Residency Program.
The Dr. C. Carl Tully & Margaret Tully Scholarship Fund is governed by the Family Medicine Foundation of West Virginia Board. The Tully Fund originated in 1994 when Dr. C. Carl Tully and Margaret Tully established an irrevocable Charitable Remainder Unitrust Fund. Due to their love for Family Medicine and faith in the leadership of the Foundation, they chose the Foundation as a recipient of 25% of the trust fund.
