Try This Tuesday: Exploring Vulnerability

If you haven’t heard of Brené Brown by now, today is your lucky day! She is a well-known researcher, professor, podcast host, author, mother, and so the list continues. She has spent the last two decades exploring courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy.

The key take-a-way is this: connection. As humans, we are designed to connect in so many ways. A barrier towards connection can be feeling not worthy or good enough, or because of another life experience that has deterred us from the idea of connection and being vulnerable.

Vulnerability can seem terrifying! So let’s think about what makes us feel most vulnerable. For some that might be going first, admitting you made a mistake, letting someone in, or maybe, just maybe it’s the fear of the unknown.

Fill in the blank: Vulnerability for me is __________________.

I am a big advocate for exploring oneself. Creating awareness is key, especially as it relates to our mental health and wellbeing. Naming our struggle is important.
