The GEO is committed to cultivating strategic international health partnerships that further the international goals of West Virginia University. We work to promote inter-professional health education experiences and participation in select global health initiatives, and we create administrative structures for global health engagement that are responsive to faculty, staff, and students around the world. Importantly, we prime our students to become the future leaders of global health.
On behalf of the Vice President's Office, the GEO diligently strives to achieve these goals through strategic global collaborations between our international partners and the five schools of the WVU HSC: the School of Dentistry, the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, the School of Pharmacy, and the School of Public Health. These partnerships create a unique and robust educational experience for our students, increasing their global competency and strengthening their skills to work in an increasingly interconnected world.
Currently, we engage in a wide range of activities including, but not limited to, inter-institutional collaborations, placing international sponsored students and scholars, and the in-bounding and out-bounding of students and faculty members. We are active throughout most parts of the world, including Central America, East Asia, the Middle East, North America, Northern Europe, South Africa, South America, South Asia, Southeast Africa, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, West Africa, and Western Europe. We have helped raise the profile of WVU.
