BECKLEY, W.Va. — Julie Wood, an alum and long-time employee at WVU Tech, recently received a WVU Values Coin.

The WVU Values Coin program is designed to recognize employees who embody WVU values and go above and beyond to bring the land-grant mission to life.

Wood has worked 25 years with WVU Tech, 23 of which have been spent with the Nursing department. She received the recognition in early March during a WVU Tech employee appreciation celebration.

Wood has served six chairpersons and six deans, and she has seen more than 800 students enter and graduate from the Tech nursing program. She has also worked with more than 50 faculty members. Despite the changes throughout the years, Wood has remained a constant figure.

Wood is described as the “go-to” person of the department and an invaluable support to the chair and students.

Congratulations, Julie!
