2017 WV RHA Conference accepting abstract submissions, scholarship applications

The 2017 WV Rural Health Conference is now accepting online abstract submissions for poster and oral presentations and applications for student scholarships. The deadline is August 20. The conference will be held at the Canaan Valley Resort in Davis, WV, October 11-13, 2017. To submit an abstract or scholarship application, visit the conference website. 

Students, residents, fellows, faculty, health professionals and community organizations are invited to apply to present a poster on their research or rural program/project. Abstracts will be accepted for projects in-progress and completed projects, as well as those that have been presented elsewhere.

Students, residents, and fellows (only) can also request to be part of an orahttp://wvrha.org/2017-west-virginia-rural-health-conference-oral-and-poster-presentations/l panel presentation. Submissions must be received by August 20, 2017. The review committee will use an evaluation rubric when evaluating submissions. The committee will include representation from three or more colleges/universities in the State. Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by Sept.10, 2017.

All poster presenters will be expected to set up their posters in the Willow and Elm Rooms at Canaan Valley Resort between 3:00-4:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11 and to be with their posters during the wine and cheese reception between 6:00 - 7:30 PM that evening.

Students and resident applicants who are interested in attending conference sessions will need to register for the conference. They can apply for a scholarship to cover conference registration and if traveling greater than 50 miles, they may also apply for lodging at Canaan Valley Resort for up to two nights in a shared room. The number of scholarships are limited, so interested attendees should apply early. The Student Scholarship form is available on the confernece website.
