Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education to be on-site Sept. 18-20

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), which accredits the majority of the medical and surgical residency and fellowship programs within WVU Medicine, will be on-site conducting a Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) site visit Sept. 18-20.

This site visit includes various meetings with senior leadership, patient safety and quality leaders, wellness leaders, residents, fellows, faculty, and program directors.

In addition, the site visitors will be guided on walking rounds throughout J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, Chestnut Ridge Center, the WVU Cancer Institute, the WVU Eye Institute, and the Physician Office Center by a resident ambassador. The site visitors will ask questions of healthcare personnel they meet along the way regarding perceptions of the clinical learning environment in these six areas: patient safety, healthcare quality, care transitions, supervision, well-being, and professionalism.
