Austin helping to develop state health plan

Josh Austin, project coordinator at the WVU Health Sciences Center and School of Public Health, is assisting in the development of the state health plan. The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington reported on his recent presentation with the Cabell-Huntington Health Department's Regional Health Connect.

The state plan, last updated in 2000, serves as the legal foundation for all of the West Virginia Health Care Authority's regulatory decisions. The state is focusing on four high-priority areas: tobacco use, opiate use, obesity and healthy aging.
