Bravo! Program accepting submissions for 'Inspiration Award'

At the 2018 Annual Awards Ceremony: Celebrating Excellence, the Bravo! Program will be recognizing one outstanding individual with the Bravo! Inspiration Award.

The award recognizes an individual who has directly influenced either employee performance and/or organizational processes, and has been an overall inspiration throughout their career to other employees, their department/unit/team, and their organization.

Recommended Criteria

  1. Work Ethic - Demonstrates excellence in the overall work performance. Demonstrates extensive knowledge and competence in their work. Accepts all types of responsibilities and performs duties above and beyond what is normally expected. Exhibits a high degree of professionalism.
  2. Attitude - Presents a positive, enthusiastic, and cheerful presence. Is respected by peers and leadership. Always willing to lend a helping hand to get others and the team through a crisis. Always acts as a team player and encourages the teamwork in others.
  3. Development – Always finds a way and puts effort forward to improve themselves, as well as develop and recognize others. Often acts as a mentor, sharing personal knowledge and skills, and offers guidance in an effort to help out the department. Goes out of their way to recognize others' efforts and accomplishments.
  4. Operating Efficiency – Suggests and/or develops new processes that increase productivity and are essentially more effective, timely, and less costly. Is very organized and makes strides to eliminate unnecessary steps for job completion. Identifies problems and addresses possible solutions to fix the issues quickly.
  5. Role Model – Exemplifies/demonstrates the Standards of Behavior and our WVU Medicine values.

Any employee is welcome to submit a story. However, the nomination is for individuals only -- no team nominations will be accepted. The nominee can be anyone who is currently a WVU Medicine employee with no current disciplinary action on their record. It is also preferred that the employee has been with the organization for at least five years.

The story should be no shorter than 500 words and should explain why this individual deserves this award. Remember to include examples, details, and a full explanation on why this person is an inspiration to us all.
